Haunted Horizons: Crafting Postcards from Dark Destinations

Haunted Horizons: Crafting Postcards from Dark Destinations In-Person

Step into the eerie world of dark tourism and explore some of the most mysterious and haunting places on Earth! In "Haunted Horizons: Crafting Postcards from Dark Destinations," teens will embark on a creative journey to discover lesser-known locations tied to tragedy, mystery, and the supernatural. Inspired by the world of dark tourism, participants will research chilling destinations—like abandoned ghost towns, historic sites of disaster, or haunted landmarks—and design their own postcards to capture the essence of these places.

Through this hands-on activity, teens will blend art and history to craft unique postcards that tell stories of eerie landscapes and tragic pasts. As they create, they’ll reflect on the ethics of dark tourism and the significance of visiting places with heavy historical or emotional weight. Each postcard will include custom illustrations, photographs, and a thoughtful message that reflects the unique atmosphere of their chosen destination.

For ages 13-17.
