Deepen your understanding and appreciation of Indigenous culture in this enriching workshop experience.

Kristin will introduce the teachings around Indigenous healing and traditional medicines and their use and significance. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the history and significance of traditional medicine and its important role in Indigenous culture. All supplies provided.

• Cost is $12.50 per person.
• Payment to be made online via credit card or in person at any library branch. 
• Payment to be made within 5 days of registration for the program, otherwise the registration will be cancelled.
• Registation will close 48 hours before the start of the program at which time the program will be unpublished from the website and refunds will not be issued.
• Refunds will only be issued for cancellations that occur at least 48 hours before the start of the program to the original payment method. If payment was made in-branch, registrants will have to come into branch to receive their refund. Refunds can only be issued in the same method of payment. 

Kristin Tyrer is Ililiwiskwew, a Cree woman from Moose Cree First Nation. Kristin has her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Nipissing University, and Bachelor of Education in Aboriginal Adult Education from Brook University. Currently Kristin works as an Indigenous Learning Consultant that is contracted by various organizations/programs. She also has experience working with Niwasa Kendaaswin Teg as a cultural safety resource developer/facilitator. Additionally, she has spent the past 14 years working within the Indigenous Community of Hamilton. Her passion for the revitalization of traditional Indigenous practices has driven her desire to support the Indigenous community. Indigenous Ceremony is an integral part of Kristin’s life. Walking the path in a good way, healing and integrating the teachings of her Elders is how Kristin dedicates her commitment to this work in supporting others.
