Andrew Robertshaw, Military Historian and Battlefield Guide, BA, MA, FSA
Andy is a freelance military historian, author and broadcaster who has specialised in the study of the two world wars. He is a former Museum Director at The Royal Logistic Corps Museum, and before that Head of Education at the National Army Museum in London, UK. Andy has authored 14 military history books and is well known for his work on the Great War. Andy serves as Honorary Lecturer at University College London and regularly acts as a consultant for the British Army on historical matters. He regularly lectures in North America and Canada. He has also worked for the Advisory Board of the National Museum of the Royal Navy.
Andy also offers his expertise to the world of television and film. He was the lead historical consultant for Steven Spielberg’s film adaptation of War Horse, historical advisor on the 2017 film Wonder Woman, and historical and military advisor on Peter Jackson's They Shall Not Grow Old. More recently, he worked on Sam Mendes’ Great War film, 1917, Matthew Vaughn's The King's Man and the successful television series Outlander. Andy is a regular consultant and on-screen expert for a host of TV and radio shows, including Time Team, The Trench Detectives and Who Do You Think You Are?
