Family Activity Day in the Medicine Learning Garden

Milton Public Library is pleased to host a Family Activity Day in the Medicine Learning Garden at Beaty Branch! This will be the official opening of the Medicine Learning Garden for the growing season. Explore the garden and participate in activities for the whole family. Limited quantity of free seed packages and refreshments will be made available. Beaty beehive honey is available for purchase!

12:15 - 12:30pm 

Opening Ceremony, unveiling of new garden signage by MP, Adam van Koeverden

12:30 - 1:00pm 

The community will participate in a traditional ceremony by Indigenous elders and knowledge keepers who will share their insights, stories, and teachings related to the garden and its significance.

1:00 - 3:30pm

Scavenger Hunt for kids in the garden.

Colouring Activites for kids in the Library.

Explore the 'Beyond Words: Dictionaries and Indigenous Languages' exhibit in the Library lounge.

1:00 - 1:30pm

Storytime with Nancy Cooper. "Biindigen! Amik Says Welcome" - a story walk in the garden. Drop-in.

1:30 - 2:30pm

Drum music performance by Aqua in the garden. Drop-in.

2:30-3:30pm

Bee Gardening at the Beaty beehives. Registered program.

 

The Beaty Branch of the Milton Public Library sits on lands of the Ajetance Treaty Number 19 held with the Mississauga of the Credit First Nation.
