Keeping It Reel: Wikipedia and the Movies In-Person
Join Emily Carrasco-Acosta, a Wikipedia expert, for a fun cinema day and to learn how to edit Wikipedia movie articles. There will be a mini Wikipedia workshop prior to watching the chosen month’s film to learn basic editing skills.
Participants will be eligible for volunteer hours for participating in this program. Note: a limited number of chromebooks will be available for use, but please bring your own laptop/tablet if possible, as well as registering for a Wikipedia account before the event.
Homework consisting of Wikipedia edits will be required in order to earn the volunteer hours - attendance alone will not earn the hours. Details, requirements, and deadlines will be provided during the program by the instructor.
