Children's Art Program - Library Public Art Project

Children's Art Program - Library Public Art Project In-Person

In celebration of The International Decade for People of African Descent (IDPAD) 2015-2024 (extended to 2028), you are invited to embark on a public art project to educate and celebrate IDPAD.

You will be introduced to the project in two sessions in the library and tasked with the creation of the artwork that will become a textile art installation. This is in keeping with a clause in the proclamation that calls for monuments to commemorate the decade.

This will become one of the growing number of installations in this textile art project in celebration of this proclamation. Students are given four criteria’s to brainstorm ideas for their artwork and will then create the artwork for the quilt with help from Nadine Williams and staff of the Library.

This program is ideal for ages 6-15.
