CanFilm Day: Movie Screening - Brother In-Person

Join us for National Canadian Film Week (April 15-19) where we will celebrate the talent and achievements of Canadian filmmakers and Canadian stories with daily film viewings for kids, teens and adults! Drop-in. First come, first served for seating.

Brother
Adapted from David Chariandy’s award-winning novel of the same name, Brother tells the story of Francis and Michael, two Black Canadian brothers growing up in Scarborough in the early 1990s. Recently immigrated to Canada, the brothers navigate the challenges of growing up outsiders, with feet in two worlds.

2024 Spotlight: Films that A.I. Could Never Make

“The power of the human spirit will never be obsolete!” – Manborg (2013)

With A.I. creeping into all aspects of our lives, there’s been a worldwide discussion about how it will impact art, and films in particular. However, we know that there is no algorithm that can replicate the creativity, diversity, and originality of Canadian filmmakers. Nothing can replace the passion, soul, and personal vision that is at the heart of these 50 Canadian films made by Canadian humans for Canadian humans.

So this CanFilmDay, prove you’re not a bot by watching a great Canadian film!
